Things to Do
The CBD is not a 9 to 5 neighborhood; it is home to New Orleans’ historic civic and entertainment roots. Ride the street care directly in front of Gallier Hall, the original city hall, and Layfayette Square, home to a multitude of seasonal festivities and live music events. The CBD is also home to dozens of world renowned restaurants with celebrity chefs, all within walking distance to the French Quarter and Convention Center/Warehouse Arts District.
Every street in the French Quarter has something to offer from classic restaurants, music venues, boutique shopping to voodoo temples. Some of the most popular areas include: Royal Street, Chartres Street and Bourbon Street – and no trip to the Quarter is complete without a trip to the historic French Market for souvenirs.
The Convention Center/Warehouse Arts District is alive with activities celebrating the arts. Museums such as the Contemporary Arts Center and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art can be found in the Warehouse District, as well as dozens of art galleries, restaurants and shops.
