Prehospital surgical amputation is somewhat rare, but is a critical skillset for the EMS physician. This workshop reviews active participant application of a comprehensive patient management scenario (utilizing non-fixed human specimen); pre-and post-operative preparation skills and discussion; and Insight into the challenges this procedure will likely present. Skills utilized include ventilation management, vascular access, hemorrhage control and fundamental core surgical procedures.
